We would like to welcome you to Greenacre Academy, a single sex secondary boys school with a large joint sixth form in partnership with the neighbouring girls school. The academy is the founder school of a multi academy trust, offering many more professional and developmental opportunities for staff across the trust.
Start Date: January/February 2019
Greenacre Academy requires an experienced engineer from industry to come on board to become an engineering trainer/assessor for their students. This is an all-boys secondary academy in Medway.
The department has a strong Engineering department which offers the NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. The department is incredibly successful and is interested in someone with industry experience who can share their knowledge and prepare students for apprenticeships, and further embed the schools vision of Skills For Life.
Previous experience is desired along with holding a teaching qualification and/or an assessors award.
For the right candidate we can offer support to complete teacher training if this is desired, and further career development within the education sector.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about engineering and about helping prepare students for the world of work. You will work alongside a strong and motivated team, who are committed to ensuring that our pupils make outstanding progress.
We can offer:
- Free Private Healthcare Cover
- A laptop
- Outstanding resources
- A particularly supportive environment
- Excellent CPD opportunities
- Teachers’ Pension Scheme
- Staff Fitness Classes
Our students have demonstrated consistently strong improvements over a sustained period and we are always keen to innovate to deliver the very best education for our pupils.
Our recent OFSTED in May 2018 resulted in a continued GOOD rating and commented that, “Leaders set high expectations for behaviour and academic progress. As a result, the school is a calm and purposeful learning environment. The Headteacher successfully supports the well-being of staff.”
The Board of Governors are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
